Feedback on capstone

The judging was a good experince, I was able to answer all the questions the judges asked and explain my capstone really well.

The setting up was a little unorganized because there were just so many things that I had to get ready for, it would've been better if I did a check list before hand, but I had the whole table to myself so I had plenty of space. The wifi got disconnected a few times, but I was able to re-connected it.

My choice for the sixth element was my brochure

My giveaway was the floss. I placed the giveaways in a box with a sign saying " you protect your teeth everyday by flossing, so you should protect them during surgery as well."

I used my laptop to show my website and video. The brochures were spread around the table so people can easily grab it and look through. I had dental floss as a giveaway and the motto " you protect your teeth everyday by flossing it, so you should protect them during surgery as well". and my poster board was on the side.

How excited are you about your invention/innovation?

My name is Ha Vo. I'll graduate from Richland in May with an Associate in Science. After graduation I plan to go to Texas State and major in Biochemistry. I volunteer at Early Head Start to learn more about the health care career. My research paper is about dental injuries in the field of anesthesia.Dental injuries represent the most common claims against anesthesiologists. Although dental injuries aren't as major as anesthesia overdose or death, they are the most common injury during anesthesia. Injury may consist of chipping, loosing, or avulsing a tooth. It’s found that the upper jaw incisors are the most likely teeth to be injured. The upper jaw incisors are aesthetically important for smiling and critical to being able to bite foods. I started my research by doing multiples literature reviews in order to learn more about this problem and find a solution to it. My resolution to this problem is to build a plastic mouth guard for patients to wear during surgery. This is related to my future career because I used to want to become an anesthesiologist, although I've changed my career, I am still passionate to complete this project.
